Story
On November 19th 2017, I video called my parents.. Dad joked around with me and reassured me that I need not worry about anything because he will always be there for me. A few hours later, our lives turned on their heads. My dad had had a major stroke. Within hours, his stroke had gotten worse. In the next few hours he received a life saving decompression surgery, where they remove a piece of the skull to release the pressure built up in the brain. He was now in a coma.
This happened in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. After about a month and a half the doctors told us, that he needed long term medical care which was best provided in his home country.
We used all our insurance funds and savings towards my dad’s medical care. Then we went on to raise £20k to get him immediate care. This paid for his air ambulance, accompanying nurse, doctor and my mums ticket to get him from Saudi Arabia to Lahore Pakistan. It also paid for the initial hospital bills in Lahore. My mum and I somehow weathered the storm and with the help of our friends & family got him to Lahore , Pakistan as per the suggestion of the doctors. We are broken. My dad is fighting and he’s fighting hard. He’s a good man. He deserves to live too. He is my father, who loves me unconditionally.
However , now we have run out of funds and cannot afford to continue his life saving medical care. We need a further £30k to ensure that his treatment will continue. This treatment includes, ICU care, full time nurses, neuro-surgeon , neurologist , ENT, Cardiologist visits, tracheostomy, CT scans and finally in 2 months time a surgery to sew the a part of his skull back (currently nested in his abdomen to keep alive).
To further raise the £30k which will go towards keeping my dad's medical care going, we decided to go for a hike.We managed to raised 23% of the target with hike.
The fund raising needs to continue to reach the £30K target. We just want to keep our family together and give my dad a fighting chance. YOU can help us do that. We would be so grateful. Please help my dad live.
