Story

Members of Fairford Rugby Club are undertaking a full weekend sporting challenge, with over 60 participants splitting into 4 teams to cover the most distance on foot and bike over the weekend 21st to 23rd August. Having worked as a club throughout the lockdown to assist one another, we now hope to take it one step further, testing ourselves physically and mentally, whilst raising funds to pay for a memorial bench for ex player and friend Richard Hadgkiss.
During these difficult times it is even more apparent that people are struggling with their own Mental Health and that the charities assisting those needing help need our support more than ever before. We will split any money raised on top of the cost of a memorial bench between two charities; the Swindon Branch of MIND and Shine Bright Support within Fairford.
MIND support people struggling with MH battles and fundraising is crucial to continue this support.
Shine Bright Support are a Fairford based charity who help with the Mental Health support of those families suffering from Cancer. Again fundraising is key to allow them to offer the amazing support that they provide whilst spreading awareness of the charity.

Over the challenge weekend individuals will be pushing themselves further than ever before within the local community. Your support is greatly appreciated and will give us all extra motivation to push ourselves further. If you see the competitors out and about please give them a cheer and we will hopefully achieve great things.
