Story

The Lytham St Annes Fighter, Bomber & Coastal Command Memorial has been one of the top visitor attractions on the Fylde Coast since its construction in 2013. At its heart is a full size replica of the Mark Vb Spitfire W3644, Lytham St Annes, which served with 19 Squadron RAF during WW2. She was shot down in June 1942, with the loss of her 19 year old Pilot, Sgt Alan Lever-Ridings.

The exact replica was purchased by the volunteers of the Lytham St Annes Spitfire Display Team following three years of fundraising. The Spitfire has stood proud for Five years, but has recently been removed from her plinth for much needed repairs, improvements and repainting. The commeorative plaques are also in dire need of repolishing and colour infills.

This crowdfunding campaign will help put this popular Spitfire back on Public display for another 5 years for many thousands of people to see, enjoy and reflect on. Donors can keep up to date with the Spitfires upgrade via our Facebook page.
