Story

We in the LBG Customer Financial Assistance team in Pitreavie want to give back to the community. Every year we organise different activities and work with local charities, but this year has been challenging with lockdown and social distancing restrictions. We want to keep going and give out to the community as we have in previous years. We have organised a team challenge to walk, run or cycle a total of 2020 miles by the end of the year, following social distancing measures. Physical activity is very important for our wellbeing and mental health which led us to make the decision to raise some money for Fairway Fife. The work they do focuses very much on mental health, and they seek to address some of the social isolation issues experienced by young people with learning disabilities. These young people are at an age where relationships with peers is an essential part of maturing to broaden their entire outlook in life. These young people however have fewer opportunities to form natural friendships and are less able to keep up with friends who move on. You can support our challenge by making a donation big or small. We want to encourage people to help this local charity and also add to their physical activity, to help improve our mental health collectively.
