Story

Over the past months I have been increasingly aware that a lot of Coronavirus fundraising has been directed towards charities administering help in the UK. I have been learning of the terrible situation both medically, physically and financially that people from less developed countries are facing. My goal is to raise awareness and funds for three charities that are addressing this problem by involving family and friends in an 'at home' musical challenge!

What we have done:

A 24 hour musical relay involving participants from our family and friends. From midnight on Friday 22nd May, every subsequent hour was filled with one or more participants making music in their own homes. A short extract from each hour, has been videoed and can be seen below.. The music making was passed on to the next person/people via video call until we completed the 24 hours! **This was not a live event but a pledge by participants to fill 1 hour with their own musical contribution.**

Our Charities:

MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERES/ DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS

As Covid-19 continues to spread, MSF teams are racing to respond to the pandemic in more than 70 countries including Nigeria, Haiti and Syria. They support health authorities, protect vulnerable people and keep essential services running including sending medical teams and supplies. https://www.msf.org.uk/

TEARFUND

Coronavirus is spreading among the world's poorest countries. For people living in extreme poverty the impact will be devastating. Tearfund's local church partners are already on the front line in countries such as Bangladesh, Colombia and Central African Republic, providing crucial hygiene and sanitation assistance as well as food. https://www.tearfund.org/en/2020/03/tearfunds_response_to_coronavirus/

BARNABAS FUND

Barnabus fund is delivering food and support to persecuted and impoverished Christian people throughout 14 different countries such as India, Pakistan and East Africa, through the worldwide Barnabas Coronavirus Emergency Network. https://barnabasfund.org/bcen

Note- All funds raised (minus JustGiving deductions) will be divided equally between these three charities.
