I first met my wife some 16 years ago, and we fell in love, She had already 3 children from a previous relationship.
We met through working for the same company, shortly after we married my wife became pregnant and we had a son. So 4 kids which was great, hard work but great. We celebrated our 1st anniversay together and our jobs were good, money was good, things were going well. Out of the blue my wife started fainting, we visited many Drs at many different times but with no diagnosis. Shortly after, the fainting turned into seizures, sometimes 10 a day which led to many falls often damaging herself. This obviously led to my wife not being able to work and I had to become her full-time carer. After many stays in hospital and neurological wards with scans and examinations coupled with therapy of many kinds we are still living this nightmare. My wife has been diagnosed with non epileptic attack disorder due to ptsd. Her last relationship was extremely violent. And it seems that after settling down with me her brain simply couldn't adjust to the lower chemical stresses.
Now after 15 years of hard living we are trying to climb what seems like a never ending mountain. We are still in debt, her falls have left her with damaged knees and she finds it extremely painful standing up from sitting, she has arthritic knees. Our bed is on its last legs as is our sofa.
I would love to be able to sleep properly without constant worry about our money problems and buy my wife an electric bed and chair to give her some relief. As a family we struggle everyday, I feel like the worst dad and husband.
But why should you care ..right. Well the simple answer is you probably don't, I know my goal here seems a lot but it would just about do everything, and maybe i'd get a nights sleep also.
I'm just hoping that someone out there will help, it's taking me over 10 years to ask for help and still it doesn't really sit right with me, but I can't fix.Thank you for taking the time to read this.
