I've raised £800 to support two monasteries I volunteered for in 2012 and 2013 to cope with the current monsoon season and every day life.

As some of you know I volunteered in 2012 and 2013 during my travels at two monasteries. The first one is the Rigon Tashi Choeling - a Tibetan monastery in Dallu (a suburb of Kathmandu). This monastery does not only serve as a spiritual safe haven but also as a school and an orphanage at times. It provides basic health care but is in urgent need of school supplies; particularly English books, maps and: mittens and warm socks for the little monks (some as young as 3!) as winter is cruel and no heating or hot water is available (yes, I washed myself with water from a flask).
The second monastery is located in Siem Reap, Cambodia where I met inspirational individuals who dedicated and still dedicate their time and wisdom to help the community (particularly education) through various projects. You can read more about them on their website (and you can always enquire about volunteering opportunities as well): http://www.lifeandhopeangkor.org
Given the current monsoon season and this year's immense impact, I would like to reach out to all of you (some might remember that I mentioned it as a cause for my birthday) and ask for your support. Both monasteries had a massive impact on my life and in order to give a little bit back, I am trying to raise at least 800 GBP. Let's do this :)
Thank You.
