It is with great sadness that Our beloved father, Farouk Bheekhun, has returned to Allah. Inna lillahi Wa inna ilayhi rajiun.

The Jahnazah took place on Thurs 25th August After Zuhr Salah at 1.30 pm - At his, Masjid Ayesha Tottenham, 115 Clyde Rd, London N15 4JZ.

Our father was exceptionally caring as a son, brother, friend, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and comrade. An intelligent full-time independent social worker, proactive founding member of Masjid Ayesha Tottenham, and prominent faith leader in Haringey devoting his entire life to humanitarian aid causes. He took on responsibilities exhibiting strength through knowledge of Islam and other faiths channeling ethical balances in his conduct enriching the cosmopolitan Britain. His presence was a pillar of fervent community leadership support and reformations. His regular volunteering work/s brought about favourable opportunities to represent: Ghulam Sarwar, The Muslim Educational Trust as an Islamic denominate for SACRE Haringey in the 1990's. He was a prime example and role model for the Mauritian Cultural Society and MCS Madrassa as headteacher. His selfless kindness has touched and healed mankind across the world - never refusing to act efficiently for the sake of Allah azawajal at any given hour. He was a knowledgeable leader who seized all opportunities to pursue Human and Equality rights for all. Alongside, Bernie Grant, our father vocalised his stand against racism for the Afro-Caribbean community in Hackney in the 1980's and somatically encouraged better understanding towards the ethnic minority community since the 1970's.

I pray to Allah to award him the deserved pious status of a Shaheed, In Sha Allah ameen.

He regularly joined the brother's congregations at Bakers Street Mosque and initiated the commencing fundraising for Muslim Welfare House, Finsbury Park. Where there was Feesabeelillah he was always in the front taking the lead to ensure the best outcome for the community at large. He was a learned mentor and I had the pleasure of working alongside him from a very young age. He taught me resilience and Islam always referring to Quran and Sunnah. His balanced approach towards life was enlightening and welcoming. He brought the light into our lives on the darkest coldest days. He was renowned for his perfect match-making skills and family counseling. He had the great honor of working alongside Yusuf Islam.

My beloved father, best friend, and loving mentor are greatly missed, and his legendary work will continue until the end of time, In Sha Allah ameen.

A true man defiant against lies and injustices is very rarely existent. He wasn’t just a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, comforting father, and fun/cheeky grandfather, he was a father figure to all who came knocking at his door for support and advice. He took on the unhappiness of the world and converted its burden into light and hope.

I am extremely fortunate that he is my father for his unwavering love, care, and resolute approach. He has ingrained in me selfless qualities that have and will always continue to benefit humanity. I look forward to rejoining him in Al-Janah, In Sha Allah ameen.

Farewell, my beloved daddy until we meet again as I know in my heart you are now in peace in the glory of Allah for eternity.

Wassalaam,

Zainab & Family
