    Story

We are a team of volunteers who have been putting up the best display of Christmas Lights in Kent for the past 38 years, and this year is a year like no other! It’s been a stranger year, when we usually meet to plan the display we were confined to our own homes, for our and everyone else’s safety; and at the moment there’s no sign that things are going to get any better by Christmas! Most of our volunteers have been involved for a long time, and it would have been easy for us to have cancelled this years display, but we made the decision that Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without our Lights!

Due to COVID we are having to do things a little bit differently this year, due to how popular our switch on event is we have sadly had to cancel this which means we have lost our day fundraising for the display. Which also means you won’t be able to support “see your name in Lights” this year, or support our raffle. We know how much everybody enjoys, and supports these fund raising events, and it was with great regret that we made the decision to cancel them in order to help protect our volunteers, as well as you, the public. Unfortunately cancelling these major fund raising events will leave a big hole in our finances, we don’t want the spirit of Christmas to be dimmed by COVID, so our volunteers will be following COVID restrictions and putting up as much of the display as possible! If you are able to support us financially this year to ensure the Christmas magic of the lights can continue, rest assured that whatever you can give will go to cover the costs of the Lights, nobody takes a salary of any kind, we are all volunteers, who willingly give up their time to try and lift the gloom of winter.

More than ever we need you to help us to keep the Lights on in Faversham during this peculiar year and into the future. Thank you for your support and please give what you can, stay safe!
