Hello!

I'm Fay and this is Peach! We're hiking a marathon in April to raise as much money as possible for the inspiring River Warriors charity. *gulp*

CHARITY:

The River Warriors are a small group of wonderful volunteers that do incredible work for our local environment, including caring for the River Marden, planting trees, rewilding and planting flowers for wildlife, improving habitats in neglected areas, brightening up social areas with paintings and mosaics, biological recording, litter picking and educating the younger generation with coffee, cake and games events in our little town. They do SO much for our local flora and fauna and are entirely funded by donations.

ME:

I'm a very keen hiker, so Peach and I walk around 50 miles on average each week, but we've never done 26 miles in one day before! I've had the goal in my head to complete a marathon hike for a couple of years now and thought that 2025 is the year to finally go for it! I just want to prove to myself that I CAN do it! So, if I'm going to do this for me, why not do it for charity, too?!

WHERE:

The route will include a number of local beauty spots and destinations to showcase the beautiful landscape we live in and demonstrate what a difference the River Warriors make by contributing to this. The hike will include 8 hills and numerous points of interest, such as Roundway Downs, Morgan's Hill Nature Reserve, the Cherhill White Horse and Monument, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow and Avenue, Avebury standing stones, the Ridgeway National Trail, the Polisher Stone, the Devil's Den, the Valley of the Stones and the Hackpen White Horse.
