Story

Hiya!

I am a second year architecture student at the university of Nottingham and I have decided to participate in Project Africa. Each year a group of students design, fundraise and build a school or nursery for some of the poorest villages in Africa. This year we are going to Lesedi Limpopo in South Africa to build a nursery for 79 children, who currently all share one small room.

All donations go 100% towards building the school and involves buying materials, hiring contractors and tools. All the funds will be used up with no excess. We want to be able to give these kids an impressive and functional space to be able to learn and play out of the African heat, so the more we are able to raise, the longer the building will last and more generations of carers and kids will be impacted!

NON of the funds made on this page go towards accommodation, transport and food for us students. We are paying our own way entirely!

It's a fantastic opportunity for us students to not only become better architects but also to leave something behind and create something which improves the lives of so many young kids and carers and make them happier.

I've attached a couple of videos showing the process of the previous Project Africa projects in case I've done a rubbish job of explaining it or if you are interested.

Thanks for reading and any donations no matter how large or small are greatly appreciated and will go a long way!
