Story
The almost a decade-long violent insurgence in Nigeria perpetrated by the militant group Boko Haram, has killed more than 700,000 people, displaced over two million, usurped livelihoods and sacked entire communities. Left in the wake of these atrocities are thousands of orphaned children, left to their fate.
Left to fend for themselves, and with no care, no education and the abiding possibility of a bleak and uncertain future, these children are themselves an evolving threat to societal peace and prone to other multidimensional atrocities.
The essence of this campaign therefore, is to raise funds for the education of at least 200 of these children and by so doing, give them a chance at life and open them up to future opportunities. In the end, we would have helped to enhance the dignity of their persons and given them a chance to escape poverty and live better lives. We would also have helped to forestall a repeat of the sort of violence that brought the children to their present conditions, thereby saving society from another circle of insurgence and other crimes.
