    Story

A number of members of staff and parents from Rose Court and the Grammar School at Leeds will be running the Abbey Dash on Sunday 6th November to raise money for Felicia's Courage.

Felicia's Courage is a charity which is raising money for research into DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), an aggressive cancer which affects very young children. Felicia Mazzella who was a pupil at Rose Court and loved by all those who knew her, suffered from this condition. From being diagnosed with DIPG at the age of 3 she showed a determination to never give up; she kept coming to school and smiled and sang with her friends and family. Felicia had a range of treatments and therapies but no cure could be found and she sadly passed away at the age of 5 in December 2015.

The Mazzella family set up the charity Felicia's Courage to try and raise money to help find a cure for DIPG. If you are able to help donate to this worthy charity we would be very grateful.

Well what a day it was! Over 20 runners gathered to run the race for Felicia's Courage and smashed the dash! For me, as a seasoned runner, it is all too easy to forget that many runners had never even contemplated running before, let alone one of the biggest races in the country! And they did Felicia very proud with everyone finishing in good time. Following the cold and wet race we all warmed up at Casa Mia with the Mayor in attendance. A further £790 was raised there as we now seek to achieve £6,000. It's so

Wow!! We broke the £1000 barrier today. That was our initial target and considering the response so far I have increased the target to £3000. I believe, between us, we can reach this target and make a real difference. Thank you do much to those who have already donated. Keep those donations coming!
