Story
A trip to the UK for Fairtrade tea-producer Patrick Kaberia from Michimikuru Tea Plantation in Kenya is being planned for September 2024. Patrick is an inspirational speaker who will share his Fairtrade story about how Fairtrade pays a fair price for his tea, how Fairtrade supports his community by enabling the setting up of clinics, schools and community planting projects and how Fairtrade supports climate mitigation and trains farmers in sustainable, ethical and child-friendly practices. We want Patrick to share his story with schools, churches and our communities so that we can encourage everyone to choose Fairtrade. We are looking to fund Patrick's trip and expenses so he can tell his Fairtrade story in person and, as part of his visit to the UK, to come to visit the Suffolk Fairtrade Towns. Fund raising is being managed by the Forum on behalf of the Suffolk Association of Fairtrade Towns (SAFT), which is co-ordinating the visit. Please support this if you are able. Anything raised above the cost of the trip will be used to support Fairtrade in Suffolk.
