Story
These days we all need kindness and compassion more than ever – with so many of us being cut off from loved ones and worried sick about them. For all those who lost someone dear to them this year – due to COVID, or any other cause – it was often impossible to be there and provide some final comfort, properly say goodbye, or host an appropriate ceremony. And even if nothing can truly heal a heart robbed of this kind of closure, a little bit of tangible empathy might provide an outlet for grief.
“Felt the Love” is a memorial project aiming to give anyone who lost someone this year a way to process their loss. Each person who signs up for it will receive a memorial box of handmade felted items and activities. People will be able to join an online community for sharing their memorials. Alongside this, anyone can contact the team behind this project to nominate a key worker for an honourable mention. From these stories, the team will regularly select key workers to receive artwork as a special thank you.
It is impossible to ask grieving families for money, so this project will be entirely free for those who wish to sign up for it and are based in the UK (due to postage costs) – but this is why it needs to be crowdfunded. If you were looking for something kind to do, this project may be the answer..
