Fenix has taken the difficult decision of staying in Lesvos and continuing with all operations regardless of the attacks on humanitarian workers and the Covid-19 outbreak. We continue to monitor the situation day by day and have taken the necessary measures to keep our staff and clients safe.

We feel ever more determined to serve this vulnerable community. Although we have been directly targeted and threatened, our clients need us more than ever to monitor the increased violations of human rights, the enactment of unlawful asylum policies and the worsening of living conditions. As part of these attacks on NGOs, our office next to Moria has been shut down by the government and for the past four weeks we have had to work outside, under the rain and cold, in order to continue providing necessary services.

We will not be deterred from serving this community.  We will not suspend our services. We will not leave.
