Story
Huddersfield Feral and Strays was set up on 31/12/2016 after assisting to trap, neuter and re-home a feral colony of cats at Springwood, Huddersfield. It soon became clear that there was a lack of support and resources within Huddersfield and the surrounding areas to assist stray and feral cats.
On a daily basis, we are contacted by members of the public and local vets to help stray, unwanted, abused or feral cats. Our aim is to help any stray or feral cat within the Huddersfield area. We catch, neuter, vaccinate, microchip, and cover any vet treatments needed, for all the cats we work with.
This year we have had a number of cats come in with serious health conditions which have made a huge dint in our funds and we now have a massive vet bill to pay.
Tom Tom - Handsome ginger guy who has sadly had to have his badly injured eye removed.
Blackie - Our gorgeous black semi feral kitty who required urgent dental work.
Dobby - Our golden oldie who came in with a huge tumor on his ear which resulted in it having to be removed.
These are just a few of the cats that have come into the rescue in 2018. Our policy is NEVER to put a cat to sleep unless the vets believe there is absolutely nothing they could do which does result in costly vet bills but we are adamant that each cat deserves a second chance!
We appreciate any support or donations and if you would like to follow the work we do, please find us on Facebook - 'Hudds Feral and Strays'
