    Story

We are hosting Fergus's Circus Charity Ball to raise funds for the organisations involved in his care.

We have been through an emotional year with our youngest son, Fergus, who was born with Down’s Syndrome in February last year. After a terrifying start to the year with a one-week-old Fergus found unresponsive in his cot, we were whisked from emergency care at Pembury Hospital in Kent to the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Here, Fergus not only spent a fraught three months in PICU, but also underwent life-saving open-heart surgery at only five weeks old.

Without a doubt, our Fergus is here with us today, happy and thriving, due to the unrivalled dedication, compassion and support of the many, many individuals involved in his care. Through his illness, he would not have survived without the involvement of all these charities and hospitals. We, his family have also been so unbelievably well supported and we would simply not have coped without outside help.

All this amazing support for Fergus is ongoing. Our learning curve with Fergus’s Down’s Syndrome is steep, but our increasing knowledge and growing confidence is only made possible thanks to these organisations. Their involvement changes lives! Our thankfulness is immeasurable and grows day by day.

With this in mind, we are hosting Fergus’s Circus Charity Ball to raise much needed funds for these organisations that have been – and still are - involved in Fergus’s care. Fergus’s Circus Charity Ball is one way for us to show our gratitude but is still just a small indicator of the level of appreciation we feel.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the following organisations:

    Down’s Syndrome Association

    Evelina London Children Healthcare

    Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation

    South Thames Retrieval Service

    Ronald McDonald House Evelina

    21Together
