This story is upsetting but please bare with it as I need your help.

The children in the picture, (Jack(6) and Alice(5)) are the children of Michael Simpson, (also pictured). They are also the grandchildren of my neighbour, Ian.

Michael was working and living in Shanghai with his two children and girlfriend Rachel. On the 20th March 2017, Michael and Rachel were brutally attacked by Michael's ex-wife of over 2 years Weiwei Fu. This savage attack left Michael dead, Rachel in a critical condition and Jack and Alice the victim of a gut wrenching ordeal.

Weiwei arrived at Michael and Rachel’s apartment with two friends. Whilst Jack and Alice slept an argument ensued and Weiwei produced a knife and set upon Rachel and Michael.

Weiwei’s friends managed to stop this frenzied attack and pull Weiwei off Rachel, but the damage had been done. Michael had been killed and Rachel had suffered severe stab wounds to both arms.

In the wake of this earth-shattering attack Weiwei’s brother picked up the children and rushed them 500 miles away from any reminisce of their past life.

The Fu family are now seeking ‘forgiveness’ from both Ian and Rachel, (who thankfully survived this vicious and ruthless attack.) This forgiveness could shorten Weiwei's sentence. If forgiveness is forthcoming the children will be released into Ian’s custody.

Turning down this offer will mean at least 8 months of taking the custody case through the courts with no guarantee of success.

In a cruel twist of fate the Fu family are also insisting on no compensation claims as part of the deal . This means Ian also needs to find £50k to cover the cost of Rachel's legal and medical bills. Ian's pension pot is running low and he needs help.
