£310raised of £450 target by 14 supporters

Weʼve raised £310 to help us fund Dance Workshops for young people in the North East.

    Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Funded on Wednesday, 11th May 2016

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Dance is such a wonderful way to get young people to living fun, creative, healthy lives.
In our workshops young people work together to create something of their very own. They build their confidence and their self-esteem by performing for others and meet inspiring young, local role models, like our dancers.
We want to make a way for kids who love to dance, who have the talent and the drive, to be able to make it their living. Our workshops develop the skills and technique that could help a young, aspiring Wayne Sleep to pass the next audition or get on to the Dance degree course they've been dreaming of.
Schools and community groups are really feeling the pinch at the moment and can't often afford to fund the extra chances their students need to really benefit their futures.
That's why we are fundraising now, so that we can offer more schools and groups our services and support them in providing the best educational experience possible for their students.

FERTILE GROUND is supported using public funding by Arts Council England and from Founding Patron, Gillian Dickinson Trust; they support us in employing four excellent new graduate dancers and collaborating with the best choreographers available. Every year, we create a body of new works and tour the region, performing in unusual places; such as public squares, art galleries, colleges, festivals and museums to give more of the public the chance to experience and be moved by dance.

Our #dancingtheroad SPRING 2016 TOUR, kicks off on May 11th 2016 at SUNDERLAND COLLEGE and travels around the North East, throughout May and June.

We are really pleased to welcome along the tour, the lovely children of Bede Community Primary School, who are going to be performing their very own version of our piece ELEPHANT DANCES as part of the tour.

Thank you for helping us to create wonderful experiences such as this for young people in the North East, together we can make even more!

Wonderful! We have already reached 40% of our target, in the first 4 days. Thank you so much to everybody who has suppoted us so far. If we keep going this way, we'll exceed our target at the end of 30 days and be able to give even more young people the opportunities they need.
