I've raised £1500 to help us set up and maintain a Defibrillator, on average 370 people suffer cardiac arrest in Grampian each year and only 18 survive.

Why are we doing this? Fettercairn is a small community in the beautiful Aberdeenshire area. Earlier this year a first aid course was held in the local primary school. We were shown all the usual first aid techniques and it was also explained how important it would be to get a defibrillator into our community. We are located at the bottom of the cairn o' mount road and this could help save a life if between Banchory and Fettercairn if someone was to suffer a cardiac arrest.
This was something discussed at the Fettercairn Parent Council and Cairn Grove Committee in Fettercairn (who had already been working on it for some time). Hopefully our joined up approach will get this to happen soon.
Our goal is to purchase a defibrillator (which we are delighted we are being gifted by WHYTE AND MACKAY). What we need to do now is adopt the BT telephone kiosk which is to be decommissioned and convert it to a defibribrillator station (hopefully) and to be confirmed or find somewhere else.
These funds will be used for maintenance of the Defib and potential site for it.
Help save a life. Remember, every penny counts and GIFT AID helps us raise even more.
Note: All funds will be transferred to Fettercairn Parent Council by BACS and will be held until we have enough money to proceed. There are also running costs and we will be fundraising to help meet those too.
