Story

UPDATE: Sadly Tim lost his fight with cancer. With the wishes of his family, the money raised will go to Brain Tumour Research.

Hi there our names are Gillian Reynolds and Roy Stevens and we are running the Spartan races over this year, this includes a 5K in April, 10K in July and a 15K in October.
We want to raise funds for our friend Tim who requires continuous treatment to control his growing astrocytoma an incurable cancerous brain tumour.
Tim, a 37 year old tree surgeon, lives in Verwood (Dorset) with his wife and young son. In June 2015, whilst operating machinery at work, Tim began to have seizures.
Tim was diagnosed with his brain tumour, doctors confirmed that it could not be operated on.
Radiotherapy was not an option as this would damage too much of his brain. The only remaining option was to undergo Chemotherapy, which helped stabilise the tumour.
This along with alternative medicines kept the tumour stable for a year then towards the end of 2016 a small part of the tumour began to grow again. As only a small part was active doctors then decided they would try radiotherapy which was concentrated on the 'active' part, with the aim of 'putting the tumour to sleep'. After a long 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy the tumour was stable again.
Then just before Christmas 2017 a routine scan showed that the tumour is active again and growing fairly quickly so he is to endure another 6 months of Chemotherapy.
Tim has also received numerous sessions of Ozone therapy and vitamin boosting injections, from the Wimbledon Clinic of Natural Medicine in London. These treatments are expensive at £300 a time, but proved to have boosted Tim’s immune system and ‘T’ cells, which fight viruses such as Cancer.
