World Scout Jamboree 2019

I have been in Scouting for nine years and this January, after a wintery selection camp, I was lucky enough to earn a place to go to the World Scout Jamboree in the USA in the summer of 2019. Together with Scouts from East Sussex and across the UK we will join over 45,000 other Scouts at the Jamboree. The event starts with us travelling to West Virginia in the US, we will be at the Jamboree for 10 days. The theme is “Unlock a new world” where we will work together on projects to learn and improve our world. After the international camp all the UK Scouts will camp elsewhere in the US. Finally as a group from East Sussex we will visit New York before going to stay with a local community in North America before finally returning home a month after we left. The Jamboree continues when we return with work in our local groups and community to share what we learned and get the next generation of Scouts to grow and develop.

Every young person who attends is expected to raise their own funds, this year the total is £3170 to make the trip possible. I will be doing this in a variety of ways from selling items, making presentations, working at events and seeking donations. We'll be using this Just Giving page to allow people to donate as well as track the other funds I raise.
