Story
In November 2024, Finn, one of our leading junior players, and Cumbria U14 captain was diagnosed with an aggressive malignant brain tumour.
Since then, Finn has had 4 major brain surgery operations and completed 4 months of chemotherapy and 3 weeks of intensive radiotherapy. He is currently undergoing physiotherapist and occupational health support, hoping to return to playing cricket. He is yet to return to full time schooling.

During his time in hospital Finn had incredible support from his medical team, including the Teenage Cancer Trust. They helped him through the most difficult times imaginable.
The support he has had from the cricket community, family, friends, school and the TCT has been simply phenomenal.
Finn’s first ever cricket coach and his last season’s 2nd XI opening batting partner and cricket mentor, Paul Yates, is determined to support Finn and those who have supported him by running an unbelievable ultra distance 55 miles from the furthest club north (Penrith CC) in the Westmorland Cricket League, to the furthest club south (Shireshead and Forton CC).
Finn ask, “please give whatever you can to support Paul’s run. I’m not sure how I would have coped with cancer and repeated brain operations without the love and kindness of those in cricket and my family and friends. The Teenage Cancer Trust was there in hospital at the times I really needed it. Please help us to raise money to help others too.”
Paul adds, “my aim is to run the length of the Westmorland Cricket League from north to south on Saturday 11th October starting 7am at Penrith CC and finishing at Shireshead & Forton CC that evening - a distance of approx 55 miles - over 2 marathons. I'm doing this as a junior cricket coach at S&FCC in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust and S&FCC's building fund. The thread that draws these two causes together is Finn Webster. Finn is one of our most talented junior cricketers and a remarkable young man who has faced an aggressive malignant brain tumour with incredible bravery and optimism over the last 9 months supported by his family, the Teenage Cancer Trust and the cricket club.

I'm raising £5,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust and Shireshead &Forton CC rebuild. The money raised will be split 50:50.
