Story
Hi Folks,
I have created this crowdfunding page to help raise some money for the Finnley Jones Memorial Fund, which supports the charities 'NEC' and Arrowe Park.
Here is our plan:-
3 cyclists (Ken Bayley, Huw Mckee and Myself)
300 Miles (give or take a few)
3 days (Wrexham to holyhead, around anglesey and Holyhead home)
As only some of you will be aware of this Charity here is the heartbreaking story of how and why my friends Craig and Deanne set up this fund.
On June 2nd last year at 28 weeks pregnant, I was rushed to Arrowe Park hospital as sadly all was not well with our unborn baby. Later that day Finnley Jones was born via emergency caesarean section at 21.25 weighing only 1lb 2oz. He then spent the next 9 days in the Arrowe Pak NICU where he received the best level of care from an amazing team of specialists.
Despite everything possible being done and all our family and friends praying for him, on Sunday 11th June we had the devastating news that he had developed 'Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC)' and would need to receive an operation at Alder Hey to remove the infected section of bowel.
Unfortunately, although the surgery was a success little Finnley was unable to fight anymore and sadly passed away in our arms on June 12th.
Finnley is always in our thoughts and even though the road since then has been a difficult one, we feel it is time not just to celebrate his life but to try our very best to repay the compassion and support we received during this time.
