Story

Big changes are needed to build a massive movement, spanning the globe, of people from every background, to limit climate change. SAL believes that current barriers to building a sufficiently large and powerful movement include

(1) longstanding divisions (usually based in oppression) between nations and between groups of people within nations,

(2) widespread feelings of discouragement and powerlessness among the populations of many countries,

(3) denial of or failure to engage with the environmental crisis, and

(4) difficulties in effectively addressing the connections between the environmental crisis and the failures of capitalism.

The tools of Sustaining All Life are useful in addressing these issues and others.

The photos show a speak-out at a SAL forum by a woman from the Amazon, and young people using SAL listening tools at a young people's workshop at COP 22 in Marrakesh.

Money raised will help to ensure that large numbers of people from all continents can attend the forums at COP 24 in Katowica, Poland. There they will share their experiences of climate change and how they are challenging governments and others, and educating people. I am supporting this cause because I can see how important face-to-face communication is to create unity world-wide for fighting climate change, the biggest challenge the world is facing.
