Axel is a loving and gentle 3 year old lad who was found living under a car in Spain, which is how he got his name. Despite only ever having lived on the street, he is the most loving and gentlest soul you could hope to meet. He came to the UK nearly two years ago, when I fostered him. He was adopted by a lovely young family who have given him nothing but the best.

A couple of months ago, Axel developed a lump on his chest, and he was taken to a veterinary charity in the UK. It was thought this may be cancer, so Axel was operated on to remove the lump, and also some infection was drained at the same time. The lump proved not to be cancerous, but despite this good news, it would not heal and continued to get worse and worse.

To date, Axel has now had 3 surgeries, including being opened up twice, having the wound cleaned and investigated, swabs, xrays and bloods taken, all to no avail. He has been on 8 different courses of antibiotics and has a continuous high temperature. The veterinary charity have now told this young couple that they can do no more as they are at a loss to explain why Axel is so sick, and that he needs a CT scan which they cannot provide. They have quoted £1600 for this to be done. The only other option is to put Axel to sleep.

The family and their two young children are devastated, and do not have this kind of money which is why they went to the veterinary charity in the first place. Distraught, and not knowing what to do they have asked me for help. And now I am asking all of you

Axel has been through so much in his short life, and he truly does not deserve this. At this moment in time there is still hope for Axel, but only with this CT scan. Without it there is none.

Please help me raise the £1600 needed to get this scan done. It HAS to be done as soon as possible to prevent this poor lad suffering further. Please help me to help Axel. His life depends on it
