Daniel and his family have recently gone through more than anybody should have to. Suffering from a brain tumour

Daniel was rushed to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital after suffering a number of fits over the course of two days, Daniel then found out the news that he had a collapsed lung and further complications and was put onto life support. On further investigation it was found that Daniel was suffering from a brain tumour. Daniel then was transferred to the University Hospital of South Wales where he underwent the first of many operations, Daniel then frequently underwent chemo and radiotherapy. On one of his routine visits to Velindre it was found that the tumour had regrown, so Daniel underwent operation number 2 and was again back on chemo therapy. Daniel then suffered another fit weeks before Christmas 2016 which led to him having a scan and operation number 3.

After a routine scan which showed the growth of another tumour which lead to operation number 4.

Hopefully the tumour has now been removed and Daniel is again living his life as normally as possible, Daniel and his family underwent a number of traumatic experiences like many other people who have found themselves in the same situation. Including a previous sub officer of Station 11, Brian “Roddy” John who sadly passed away to a brain tumour during recent months.

The money raised through this charity run will be split between the Fire Fighters Charity and Daniel, the money given to Daniel and his family will be for them to use as they feel is right and hopefully give them some precious time as a family which they have no doubt missed out on over recent times due to Daniels illness.
