Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We are looking to raise money to help our friends to rebuild there home and lively hood after a devastating 100km fire storm ripped through there farm in South Africa last week, taking out more than 200 homes in the region.
Almost three generations live on the farm! Clem his heavily pregnant wife, his mother in law, father, two younger brothers a cousin and four dogs.
We are absolutely gutted. After spending the last three months living with the family on the farm, helping and watching them renovate and build their home.
Completely self built with the help of friends and family, off the grid powered totally by solar panels and waste water recycling, enabling them after many years to become self sufficient.
We helped dig out a massive allotment area and built a huge gravity fed drainage system to help save water and to provide their crops with much needed moisture in the hot summers. We helped plant more than a 600 strawberry plants, vegetables, potatoes and many others. Unfortunately they were all destroyed.
This would be horrible to happen to anybody but to us at least this family really is special.
Clem donates so much time to helping so many people. He studied and trained in UK and got a Football coaching qualification from the F.A. Which he now puts to good use in South Africa, training under privileged children from the small villages along the Wild coast.
Clem gathers donations for these children from all over the world. Providing football kits, boots, balls, training equipment and was just in the midst of setting up a football training school, when the fire storm hit. All the kit donations and equipment were incinerated.
The family have very little income, basically living off the land and live a humble life filled with love and joy. The family make bracelets, bangles and other little trinkets to sell to tourists. Bartering crops for food. Lawn mowing for chicken feed that sort of thing. All the funds will go towards helping the rebuild.
