After doing my first firewalk two years ago i decided to organise a firewalk instead of just taking part and to do it for a charity that was close to my heart. I'm not a veteran, (i wanted to enlist but couldn't due to health issues)my brother served in the army, as did my grandfathers and pretty much most of my family tree so i want to give back something that i'm passionate about and to a charity with no "fat cats" at the top taking a chunk of the money for their salary..thats why i support Soldiers Off The Street Scotland. Veterans shouldn't be serving our country then having to live on the streets, often with PTSD, thats where the charity helps out, finding and rehoming our veterans and getting them the help they need. Every penny counts..it helps the outreach team go out and contact veterans on the street, providing basic supplies, deposits/rent for housing, furnishing for their home and general support when they need it. Especially at this time of year when temperatures are dropping to an average -5 at times, veterans shouldn't be sleeping out in this. Please donate what you can..a little goes a long way. Thanks :)
