Story
You can be a life saver without ever needing to open a first aid kit. Supporting CFAC helps us put our first aid team in schools and equip volunteers!
Defibrillators can save lives. When someone suffers a cardiac arrest, the chance of survival falls by 10% every minute without action. However, with CPR and the use of a defibrillator within 3 minutes, the chance of survival could be as high as 70%.
In England the rate of survival to discharge for the 28,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests where the emergency medical services attempted resuscitation in 2013 was 8.6%.
We want to make sure we have a defibrillator available when it’s needed most. As a first aid charity, we’re launching a fundraising appeal asking people to help raise money for more defibrillators, which our volunteers will use to treat people who have suffered a cardiac arrest.
