Story
Flash in the Attic Dance Theatre are making the journey up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2018. The company has the opportunity to present work as part of Innovations Contemporary Dance Platform 20-25th August. Presenting three works as part of the six day event including a current work "Fixate" which premiered to audiences in November 2017, and two new works currently under creation.
Having the oppportunity to present work as part of the Edinburgh Fringe will provide the company with the capacity to engage with both dance and public audiences in attendance to the platform events. Raising the companys profile within the biggest cultural festival on the planet and providing the company's dancers professional development opportunities within the Fringe itself to experience work of other practitioners along with workshops and networking. By the company performing we hope to raise the banner for professional dance from the North East Wales & Cheshire areas at the Fringe Festival which we hope to have a possitive effect for the companys ongoing growth and development.
The company is made up of a collective of dancers and is based in the borders of England and Wales near Chester. FiTA celebrated 5 yrs in 2017, as the company has grown from the vision of two ambitious undergratuate students from the University of Chester into becoming a regionally active dance theatre company. Flash in the Attic currently does not recieve funding from government or local authority and currently relies souly on its income from performances and educational work. The company recieves studio based support from Elite Studios in Flintshire where the company are able to create work in professional and purpose built studio spaces.
