Story
Five Sisters Zoo is set to re-home two female Snow Leopards, Nela and Aruna from Belgium. They were confiscated from a private dealer attempting to move them across the Russian border illegally and have since been in a rescue centre in Belgium.
We are around three weeks behind schedule with the enclosure but we need to have the Snow Leopards over here by early to mid March as we do not know what implications a no deal Brexit would have on bringing them from Belgium, at the worst we need to have the indoor house and the holding enclosure complete by then.
The cost of building this enclosure has rocketed and with the Zoo being in our quiet period we are finding it fairly tough right now although when you see the finished result you will see why it has been such an expensive project for us, this will be an amazing enclosure and will give the Snow Leopards a fantastic environment to live out the rest of their lives.
A minimum of £5000 will help with the cost of completing the enclosure any additional funds will go directly toward transporting the snow leopards from Belgium and the on-going upkeep (feeding, veterinary costs and enrichment) when the Snow Leopards arrive at the Zoo.
Thank you to everyone who is helping with this we really appreciate your support.
