I've raised £50000 to provide computers/tablets/data to enable children in our community the opportunity during lockdown, to make sure that #nochildisleftbehind

FizzBug has been providing care for infant and junior school aged children during holidays, prior to and after school in Harpenden for quite a few years; you may have heard of us or we may have even looked after one of your children. During these uncertain times, we want to continue to support the local children and the strapline “making sure no child is left behind” deeply resonates with us.
Home-schooling is now the norm but many local families do not have the equipment needed to home-school their children.
Whilst the Department of Education are providing Junior Schools with tablets, a) there’s not enough and b) some households are unable to afford the required data. In addition, some families have just the one device (often a phone) and that could be shared between multiple children of different ages and different needs.
We have set up FizzBug Share2Learn. We are aiming to provide computers / tablets or data to enable children in our community the same opportunity during lockdown and to do our thing to make sure that no child is left behind.
Working collaboratively with local infant and junior schools, we will provide local families with any physical equipment (donated via our Face Book page FizzBug Share2Learn) required for this home-schooling period. Money raised here will be used to purchase data and any other equipment we cannot get hold of through donations.
Our Face Book page has more details about our loan service, the collection of donated disused devices and how you could support us by donating your time; for example any IT bods who could help struggling families who may get stuck setting up their computer!
Many thanks in advance for your support. As a nation we’re all in this together and as a local community, let’s do what we can to help our local children. #leavenochildbehind
