Story

Daz from Team Jules is running the Coventry 5K Run on Sunday 5th April to raise money to help us continue delivering workshops around issues of Mental Health & Well being in young people.

At the moment he will be running in normal running gear but if we get enough supporters, he has said he will run in fancy dress. This is Daz in fancy dress, what a stunner.

Daz isn’t new to fundraising as he’s been tirelessly raising money for Team Jules over the last couple of years alongside his beautiful wife Jules herself, friends and family. Jules needed expensive treatment for cancer but tragically passed away November 2019 after a long battle. Jules was an inspiration, a warrior and one of the most amazing ladies you could ever wish to meet. Daz wants to continue raising money for worthy causes as a legacy to Jules and we are extremely grateful to Daz and Team Jules for wanting to raise money for our project.

We caught up with Daz over a cuppa one afternoon and he asked what we had been up to and how he could help raise funds to help us continue with Fizzog Community Trust projects. We told him we had been delivering workshops in schools around Mental Health & Wellbeing in young people but unfortunately we only had limited funds. Other schools were contacting us to book in their schools but we had to put them on hold until we had secured further funding. We told Daz this was so frustrating as we, the teachers and the kids themselves had seen significant benefits. As so many young people are struggling these days with anxiety and stress it’s vital that more work from outside organisations can deliver projects to alleviate the strain on the schools. Daz decided this would be a great idea.

The money raised will allow us to deliver 5 more workshops around issues of Mental Health & Wellbeing in those schools we have had to put on hold for now. We will be offering tools and techniques that pupils can do in their own time to reduce stress and anxiety .

You quickly built up a rapport with students and made them feel secure to share ideas. A fantastic range of interactive activities. Thank you for such a thought provoking session. BRILLIANT!

We believe that children’s mental health should be top priority in today’s society. If you feel that this is a worthy cause the please donate.
