My dear friends,

My 50th birthday is getting closer by the day I’ve been giving it a thought or two these last few months of my 40s and certain events have led me to sign myself up for the New York Marathon in November.

Now here’s the thing, I HAVE TO DO THIS!

Why? Because I’ve made a promise to a dear and courageous friend who sadly has died with stage 4 breast cancer. Before Em died I promised her that I would run the New York in her name, and to see her smile when I told of my intention, there is no way I will not do this.

In order to take part I need to raise £599 for the flights and entry fee to the Marathon PLUS I have to commit to raising £2000 for Macmillan.

So for my 50th, I am asking for either a donation to my Crowdfunding page or if you would prefer a donation to my fundraising page – either would be so greatly appreciated both by Em and myself.

I am so very blessed and bloody lucky frankly to be here to sign up to this challenge. I dodged a bullet and want the rest of my life to be about making a difference and raising awareness about this bloody cruel disease. The only way I know how to do this is wearing ridiculous headgear, telling the terrible puns and running marathons to raise money for Macmillan.
