Story
In February we had a new visitor that came to eat the food we leave out for the neighbourhood cats. This matted and dirty cat kept coming back and slowly grew brave enough to come into the house occasionally. Fast forward to May and we thought about adopting him so took him to the vets to see if anyone owned him and get checked over.
The check up went fine and no one owned him, so the next step was castration. The Cats Protection helped us with payment however he was unable to go through with the operation as he had evidence of blood in his urine, this led to medication to help relieve the symptoms. The following week he managed to have his castration along with a urinalysis. The result was a week of antibiotics and a week later another test. We then decided to opt for a 2 week injection of antibiotics. A repeat of the test still showed that the blood in his urine remained unchanged, so thought it was best to get an ultrasound, which came out fine.
Our next step was to hope another type of antibiotics work, When this failed we went ahead with a urine culture test. This has since come back with no evidence of bacteria meaning our next step is an aids/leukaemia test.
None of this comes cheap especially as he currently has no insurance due to him being a stray and not being able to declare his clean bill of health. This is where you fantastic people come in, please can you spare any money towards our future vets bills. Once we can have a clean bill of health, we can make insurance possible and have lifetime cover.
Thank you all.
