Story
Eden went to school at Flash school when she was four until the school closed in 2012. She was the last girl at Flash school, along with 6 boys! The school had close links to the village church and the surrounding community. The annual Rose Queen event is a popular traditional village event, and a girl from Flash school becomes the Rose Queen for the year. She attends lots of local events and represents Flash at events in other villages. In addition to this the Rose Queen hosts a fund-raising event to raise money for a good cause of her choice.
Eden Hargreaves was proud to be crowned Flash Rose Queen in May 2018 and she has chosen to raise funds for Flash village hall, aka Quarnford Memorial Hall. The village hall features at the heart of many local events, including weddings, funerals, birthday parties, and fashion shows. The day to day running of the village hall is funded completely from donations and money raised by the community. It is manned by volunteers who give their time freely to keep this essential village amenity open to all.
Flash is the UK's highest village, sitting 1519 feet or 463 metres above sea level. To raise funds Eden is going to undertake a sponsored swim and will attempt to swim from Flash to the sea and back again! She will be swimming 37 lengths of Brough Park Leisure Centre. Please help her raise as much as possible by donating to this worthy cause. Thank you.
