HELP US RAISE MONEY FOR FLECKNEY VILLAGE GROUPS (SEE BELOW)

This is your chance to make a difference to our local community and support our groups with raising money for the pot that gets divided amongst this years selected groups. They are all needing money to fund a project.

Hello everyone, this year we will be holding the new annual event FLECKNEY FESTIVAL in place of the Fleckney Carnival, as the roads in the village are unsuitable to grow the parade. We are RAISING MONEY FOR VILLAGE GROUPS & CHARITIES, and it's a chance for the groups to showcase what they offer and perhaps even recruit. This year we are raising money for FLECKNEY LIBRARY, FLECKNEY SILVER BAND, DUCKPOND PLAYERS, DRUMMONDANCE, FLECKNEY ATHLETIC & SING CHOIR. There will be events during the week leading up to the festival and money raised from this gets put together, then at the main event it gets split amongst the groups and presented to them on the stage. The events that are happening:

Sunday 10th September there is tea & cake at the Fleckney Band Hall showcasing their refurbished band hall aswell as music from the band plus guests 2-4pm

Monday 11th September the library are hosting a book sale and literature quiz night 6-8.30pm with the quiz being £1

Tuesday 12th September Sing choir are holding an open rehearsal where you can come and join in or just watch with refreshments for donations at the Church Hall 7.30 - 9.30

Wednesday 13th September The Duckpond Players are hosting a murder mystery dinner night 'A Deathly Development' at the golden shield in Fleckney. Costs £12 including a 2 course meal plus a murder! Tickets on 07543506247

Thursday 14th September we have a curry night at The Crown Of India in Fleckney 7.30pm. 4 course meal for £10 per head! There will also be a raffle. Tickets on 07902578387

The main festival event is on Saturday 16th September 12-5pm at the Fleckney Sports Centre where there will be helicopter flights, entertainment, rides, entertainment, archery and so more! Then from 5.30pm-9pm we will have a concert with local Leicester bands and singers, plus there will be fairground rides both for children and thrill seekers, then to top it all off a spectacular firework display with music.
