I've raised £2000 to install a defibrillator for the community, for the Harris Trust and also for Duns Food Bank

Earlier this year, Fleming Homes earmarked £1000 to donate to a charity of our teams’ choice. Conscious that cardiac arrests can happen to anyone, but early CPR and defibrillation may double the chance of survival, the team decided to install a defibrillator at our premises in Duns for the benefit of the local community. Except the defibrillator we have identified cost twice as much. Undeterred, the team is now fundraising to match the donation.
To do this, we intend to “Step to the Beat….for 13 miles.” Team members and some game family and friends will walk a half marathon along the stunning Northumberland coast from Spittal Point to The Barn at Beal on Saturday 10th August.
Getting in the spirit of things, we will also be hosting a coffee morning and bake sale, complete with homemade cakes and bacon rolls on Friday 9th August, from 9:00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at our factory premises on Station Road, Duns. So if you're in the local area please pop by!
No matter how small, every contribution will bring us one step closer to installing a defibrillator that could potentially save a life in our community. Any funds raised over and above the cost of the defibrillator will be shared between the Harris Trust which aims to improve the lives and mental health of neurodivergent young people located in the Scottish Borders, and also with Duns Food Bank.
Thank you for your support!
