I've raised £5000 to to help relieve poverty and support basic human rights and education for the young children of Nepal.

A lot of the children of Nepal, especially in the more rural areas live below the poverty line and many of the children are orphaned from the earthquake of 2015 or being forced in to child labour jobs as their families cant afford to support or educate them. We need to raise as much money as possible to contribute to everything from stationary to building supplies. The simplest things such as a pen and paper means a child will be able to study and learn, giving hope to the future of Nepal.
This April, Joe and I are headed to Nepal to begin what will hopefully be a lifelong relationship with a charity called My Small Help - whose main focus' are in relieving poverty and supporting the basic rights and education of children in Nepal. We will be working on building projects, teaching, creating artwork and helping in any way we can.
Over this time Joe will spend 3 weeks assisting in the classrooms and playgrounds of 3 different Nepalis schools; 1 in the capital Katmandu and 2 more rural schools in need of a bit more attention. He will also be getting his hands dirty with contributing to any construction work, including plastering a new school in its final stages.
After 10 days I will be leaving Joe - while I embark upon what is possibly my biggest adventure/challenge to date - a 14-day trek to Everest Base Camp! I love my walking and nature, but I have never attempted anything like this before in my life! It is one of the harder treks, not for the faint-hearted - long, arduous and no doubt I will be struggling through temperamental conditions! Luckily I will have my dear friend, and ultimate warrior - Kimm Fearnley - by my side. Who has unknowingly promised to carry me when things get too much!
When/If I make it back down the mountain, Kimm and I will be rejoining Joe and the My Small Help team at the school to continue work.
We are hoping to raise enough money to support two children - Sudip (11) and Sobit (7) through to their adulthood - both of whom lost their parents and homes in the 2015 earthquake. We would be so grateful for any donation you could make to help us help these two boys, and hopefully many of their friends long term. Every penny and more will be going to the children...
We hope this is just the beginning for us as we plan to head back next year to help with building work on the new school project.
In advance... Thank you so much for the support... xxx
