£390raised of £1,000 target by 13 supporters

Weʼve raised £390 to help raise money for a community arts group that has been the centre of my world for the last 5 years. I really want to give something back!

    Leeds, UK
Funded on Sunday, 11th November 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Leeds Arts Centre (LAC) is an amateur theatre group which presents a wide variety of plays at the Carriageworks Theatre on Millennium Square in Leeds. They are a community group and look to involve as many as they can in their productions and activities.

With recent cuts to funding and changes in rules and regulations about them this is becoming increasingly hard to do. All LAC members volunteer their time and energy to make our plays happen. But, as you might expect, this comes at a cost.

In order to successfully put on a production of their upcoming show: The Flint Street Nativity. I'm asking for help from you lovely people. More than just helping this one show, your donation will help the arts continue in Leeds and support a wonderful group of truly dedicated people.

My fundraising target might look ambitious. But, if you gave even as little as a £1 today, and asked one friend to do the same, we'd be well on our way already.

Please give as little or as much as you feel you can. For me this is about giving back to a group that has meant a lot to me. I rarely (if ever) ask for help in this way so i really hope we can do our bit.

I'm happy to rabbit on about LAC and all the good i've seen it do, not just for me but for the community in Leeds. Feel free to get in touch.

Lastly, because i know donating can sometimes be tricky. I'd like to offer a little incentive for you to dig a little deeper into your digital pocket. Anyone who donates more than £10 i'll put up a thank you on a poster outside the auditorium. Our "wall of thanks" will, hopefully, commemorate all of your personal support of the arts in Leeds.

Don't want to be known in this way? That's ok too, just mark your donation as anonymous (or say as much in the message). Want to send me or LAC a message when you donate. Do it! I'll make sure the message is displayed on the poster too.

I really hope we can fill the space with your names and messages!!

    Thanks

    Ben

I began my amateur acting career 5 years ago with the LAC. They've been a second family to me over that time. I've learnt a huge amount and have met a tonne of great people. I'm finally in a position to give something back to this great community group. I hope you can help me!
