If you've been following the story of our rescue pig Posy on my @florafairweather Instagram then hi hiiii hiiiiii!!!!! I'm so so happy to have you over here!!! I've been a pain in the bum forcing you all to buy my blankets left, right & centre to fund food for her, then more fencing, then an arc... and now... a (pig) friend...
The thing is, a friend means more space, more space means more fencing, more fencing means more money, more money means a grumpy husband!!! Yikes! You know the drill!!!!
Ultimately, having our 2x 2acre fields enclosed properly with stock fencing opens our arms to more & more animals needing loving homes. We need to hire a digger to clear 25years of bramble growth giving us an extra 0.5acres of room to roam & a tractor driver to ram posts along with all the wire, wood & gates. You may have also seen that we went out to a local farm this month & rescued some caged hens, we have a group of retired Ewes ready to move in & finally our precious Posey Pig can shack up with a forever friend to ease my guilt every time I put her to bed alone. When she first arrived I swatted up on caring for pigs & a quote I read still kills me every single day... "There is nothing more sad in this world than a lone pig." GAH-like an arrow to the heart. We've trawled though every government site searching for grants that may be available to us but being such a small area compared to a farm & with no income from the small holding we are just stumped at how to get going...
