Horse are not native to the southern part of Ghana. The famous Accra race track was sold to a luxury hotel development and horses, owners and grooms made homeless. Many died or ended up on beach ride horse suffering heat and exhaustion. Sport horses near retirement or injured are given away /gifted to many who dont' know how to care for them and don't have the space. They become diseased, distressed and neglected, and put back to work on the beaches.

There is space, volunteers, but urgently requirement for medical care, medicines and Ferrier services. There is no local Vet to the farm/stables who understands horses or Ferrier.

Our long term aim is to keep the horse for retirement and for school visits, awarness and supporting the SPCA aims. But importantly for Vet students to learn and interact with horses and train in the UK. There is no practicing equine vet in the country. We would love to sponsor a student one day.
