So its my 60th Birthday and unlike when I was young I don't need a pile of gifts or money to support my next endeavours. So I thought, I know what, I'll find a charity to support and donate funds to that. However nothing was around that really did what I wanted to do, which is to give money to young people who might be struggling financially and don't have family or friends to help with the costly pursuit of higher education which is an expensive but worthwhile investment. I am lucky enough to have been able to support my own children but I know what a struggle it is could be. So I've started my own fundraising endeavours for other young people, entitled HANDS and dedicated to my mother Una Kroll who died last year. During her life she helped us all pursue our interests and careers and reached out to many people with her hands, prayers and love. I am setting up an application process for young people initially in Greenwich where I work and then perhaps to other places across London.
