Story
Like many theatre's across the U.K, we have been hit hard by the devastating impacts of the Coronavirus. We were forced to close our doors a week before the Junior Florians were due to perform their annual productions and the rest of planned productions for 2020 &2021 were also subsequently cancelled.
We have been fortunate to have been able to embrace technology and continue to bring to life our first ever attempts at online performances with both the Juniors and adults. These have been a fantastic opportunity for both members and audiences alike to still get involved with theatre while stuck at home.
Although the path out of lock-down leading to the re-opening of the building seems unsure, the committee feel that it is important that steps be taken now in order to be able to open up as soon as the all-clear is sounded. We have therefore ensured that the Lease of the building from the Highland Council has been extended for a further 25 years and are now embarking on a programme of extensive improvement works. The most significant of these works is the installation of increased ventilation throughout the building in order to improve the quality of the air shared both by performers and our customers. This improvement is a recommendation for the reduction of viral infections and is being put in place to reassure and encourage reuse of the building by everybody now wary of being in confined spaces with others. At the same time work is being undertaken to protect the fabric of the building as required by the terms of the Lease.
All of this does come at a cost, as does continuing to put together online productions. For this reason we ask you to kindly consider donating to our club so we can reopen safely, as soon as we're allowed, and so that we can also continue to bring you productions online, and perhaps even outdoors in the meantime.
We thank you for your support!
