Story

On the 19th May 2019, a group of supporters from Telford Homes in Waltham Cross, AKA 'Florie's Fighters' are taking part in the Hackney Half Marathon raising money for Florie's Fund.

They have chosen to run on behalf of Florie as her Dad works for the same company so its very close to home.

Please carry on reading to find out more about the cause and Florie <3........

Florie is a little girl in Hertfordshire, who developed like any other baby girl. Until she got to 16 months old. She regressed, lost all her skills and is now stuck in a body that doesn’t work for her.

She is now non verbal, a full time wheelchair user, she has no functional hand usage, has Epilepsy, dystonia, digestion problem, scoliosis, breathing difficulties. She has very complex needs. Florie require 24/7 care.

But if you follow our page, you will know she has the best Smile 💜

Florie’s Fund was set up after her parents held a charity Event for a Rett Syndrome Charity and guests we asking to help out Florie personally.

We (parents) set up a treasury fund in Flories name so that our supporters can donate, to help Florie.

We use this fund to make purchases, experiences on her bucket list or to fund therapy and equipment that is not available on the NHS.

So far Flories Fund has purchased a shower table, a supportive armchair, a trike, physio equipment for Home, Private Physio sessions, a swim with Dolphins in Florida and sensory lighting.

For us it’s all about giving Florie the best in life, making sure she is happy and as healthy as she can be. As Rett Syndrome is life limited, we like to spend time as a family.

As her parents, and I know I speak for her grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings, We are forever grateful to our supporters and appreciate anything that helps us out.
