Story

As the days grow shorter and the nights stretch longer, we find ourselves yearning for moments of joy and connection. The "Ronnie Rusacks Flotilla of Lights" has been a cherished family event for many years, illuminating the Union Canal with vibrant colors, music and laughter.
This magical gathering of boats not only brings life to the canal but also creates unforgettable memories for all who gather along its banks.
However, to keep this beloved tradition alive, we (the boaters and the Lowland Canals Association) need your support. Our goal is to raise £1,000 to ensure that this event continues to shine brightly in our community for years to come.
This year, the Flotilla of Lights will take place on the Union Canal, in Edinburgh, on Saturday the 08th of November 2025, starting from Harrison Park at 6.30pm, and making way,... slowly, towards Edinburgh Quay (by the Leamington Lift bridge). The passage of the Flotilla should be about 45 minutes long and its sight is going be the same all the way, between Harrison Park and the Leamington Lift bridge (last boat should pass the Leamington Lift bridge around 7.45pm).
Your generous donation will help us bring together families and friends, fostering a sense of unity and joy during this special time of year.
We invite you to be a part of this wonderful cause. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant impact. Together, let’s keep the spirit of the Flotilla alive! Thank you for your kindness and support.
