Story
Our event has been running for many years and is enjoyed and eagerly anticipated by people in our community. We encourage people in a fun way to participate in and gain information about the joys and health benefits of home food growing and production, gardening and creative hand making. This year funding is scarce due to the huge amount of worthy solidarity projects running now due to Covid. However we feel that community cohesion and bringing people together in a positive way to do something that will enhance their lives forever has equal importance as more obviously charitable endeavours. Community is what makes people feel like they belong and are cared for, and learning and being inspired by others' skills, generously shared, is hugely important for wellbeing and happiness. We will have gardening, horticultural and natural wellbeing workshops for children and adults of all ages and abilities and stalls for plants, information on local green and food growing organisations people can get involved with and local crafts and natural products. This year we will also be showcasing local food growing and distribution organisations who have been supporting food banks or working to keep our parks and green spaces safe and maintained and sharing local volunteering opportunities.
