Story
This Blue Monday, gym members at Jones’ Fitness in Biggleswade will take on a tough challenge. They aim to earn 650 Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) in one day.
MEPs come from a wearable fitness system. It tracks your heart rate and rewards effort, not speed or strength. The normal monthly target is 1,300 MEPs, which matches the WHO activity levels.
So 650 MEPs in one day is huge. It equals half of the month’s activity in just one day. That is like doing two weeks of exercise in a single session.
This challenge raises money and awareness for the local men’s mental health group, For Men To Talk.
